Leucoderma/Vitiligo is just a skin condition which is caused due to the loss of melanin in your skin; this skin disease does not spread from one person to another. It can affect people of any ages, and any gender. This skin disease can be treated using natural remedies; however the effectiveness and success rate of following the Vitiligo treatment is not yet defined.
On the other hand Vitiligo or Leucoderma can also treated by other treatments.
Skin grafting treatment
During the course of Skin Grafting Treatment procedure, a very small patch of skin that is not affected is extracted. This skin patch is then attached to the affected areas surgically. The two methods in which this grafting is done are partial skin grafting and full skin thickness skin graft
The first procedure known as the partial skin graft involves skin being removed from areas which is not affected and is surgically placed in the affected areas.
On the other hand in the second procedure which is called Full skin thickness skin graft, in which skin is cut from the donor areas.
The Full skin thickness grafting treatment, causes scarring as a side effect. This treatment is causes lesser pain to the patient during and after the treatment.
Blister grafting treatment
During the course of treatment, blisters are created on the affected areas. The top layer of the blisters is then extracted, with the help of a suction pipe. These layers are then transplanted to the affected areas. Scarring, on the treated areas is a common side effect post the treatment.
During the course of this procedure implants are transplanted into the affected areas, with the help of surgical instruments. This procedure provides maximum results, when used in areas such as the lips. The most common setback of this procedure is the inability to find the right skin tone to treat the affected patch. Another setback is that the damages caused during the treatment, may trigger the birth of another patch on your skin.
Laser therapy treatment
During the course of this procedure, a certain drug is applied to the areas and then UVB lights of a certain wave length are passed through the same areas. The affected patches regains its color after the procedure, the common side effect of this procedure is the treated area can become red also blister can be caused.
Melanocyte Transplant treatment
During Melanocyte Transplantation Treatment course the top layer of the skin is extracted, with the help of some surgical instruments. The extracted skin is grown over night in a lab, and applied in the affected areas when it is grown completely.
Vitiligo can be treated using several methods, however only the earlier mentioned treatment guarantees a higher success rate. These treatments cause only minimal side effects to the patient.
