Vitamin D works like a hormone in the body as it is very essential and has important functions and effects on many systems in the body. The body preps it from cholesterol when the skin is exposed to sunlight. Also found in certain foods like fatty fish and dairy products.

Vitamin D deficiency is an extremely common disorder, here are some of the common symptoms:

  • Falling sick often? Vitamin D is responsible for your immunity levels. It regulates the system and ensures it eliminates illness causing virus and bacteria. So, if you are falling sick often, it could be due to low vitamin D levels.
  • Fatigue easy? If you feel tried easily, low levels of Vitamin D could be one of the reasons. Low blood levels have an impact on your energy and this could be related to vitamin D levels in the body.
  • Back or bone pain? Vitamin D plays an important role in bone health. It improves the body’s absorption of calcium thus improving bone health. Back and bone pain could be due to low levels of Vitamin D.

  • Hair loss? Lack of nutrients like Vitamin D could be one of the factors to your hair loss issues.

Improving Vitamin D levels 

If you feel like you might be deficient of Vitamin D, consult your doctor and get your blood levels checked. Vitamin D deficiency is fairly easy to correct by increasing your exposure to the sun, improving your diet by adding Vitamin D rich foods or simply by taking supplements.
